Alanis the Unschooler

I am so in love with unschooling right now, and it seems I’m not alone.

Check out Alanis. Unschooling like a boss and posting about it on Twitter.

You might think that unschooling is all about the kids. And of course, that’s usually where things start.

But what I have discovered on this journey of unschooling, is that it is just as beneficial for me as it is for the children.

Healing things that I didn’t realise needed to be healed, expanding my capacity for creativity, deepening my understanding the world. Curiosity run wild.

Isn’t it ironic. Don’t you think.

  1. Ha Ha! LOVE that you quoted your own song. I’m actually beaming. Anytime I say “isn’t it ironic” I always add “don’t you think”.
But – more to the point – I completely agree with what you have said here. I grew up hating nature, mud, being outside. And now unschooling my little human I love to get stuck in. Appreciating life a whole lot more these days. I guess it makes you see things through your child’s eyes. And, to a child, the world really is amazing.

  2. *ha ha. Sorry I thought she wrote the whole post. And you shared it. I now realise you wrote it. But still like that you quoted her song.
